This one is grown on a property the Antinori family has owned since 1995, where the soils are mainly clay and limestone with plenty of very fine gravel, a mix that helps the wine keep its freshness. The fruit is destemmed, gently crushed and fermented in stainless steel vats for eight to ten days. Once malolactic fermentation is complete the wine matures for about ten months before bottling, a far shorter wait than its bigger sibling, so the emphasis stays on juicy fruit and supple tannins.

Medium-bodied and easy to enjoy, it is a great weeknight Tuscan red. Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees with pasta al ragù, pizza, grilled sausages, roast pork or a plate of salumi. Drink it over the next five years or so while the fruit is fresh.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
