They filled a single fermenter to see what the site would do, then blended it with the lighter ferments declassified from the Heathcote Syrah. It proved worth pursuing: the cooler Harcourt ground gives a more savoury, spicier Syrah, and from 2021 onwards it has had a label to itself. This bottling, then, is the record of a trial that worked, and the most approachable red in the range that year.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAromatic and juicy: blue fruit, violet, sweet spice, with silky texture, driving acid and a graphite nip at the close.
