Prunotto has long bottled it as a wine in its own right, part of a tradition the house helped establish: founded as an Alba co-operative in 1904 and named for Alfredo Prunotto in 1923, it was among the first in Piedmont to treat individual vineyards as separate wines rather than components of a blend. Beppe Colla shaped that identity from the 1950s, and the Antinori family has owned the house since the 1990s. Fruit is fermented on skins with a long maceration, matured in oak, then given extended bottle age before release.

Best with braised or roasted red meat, game and truffle dishes; serve at around 18°C, decant if opening young, and expect it to gain from ten years or more in the cellar.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
