Hand-picking fell on 15 March, and the whole bunches were pressed straight to barrel for a wild ferment. Ten months followed in French oak puncheons, a quarter of them new, with the wine left largely undisturbed to build texture. Tom McCarthy's ongoing interest in single-vineyard fruit is what keeps this in the range, and his feel for the variety is what makes it work.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMuscular and fine at the same time, with stone fruit and citrus, barrel-derived richness and cool-climate tension holding it all in line. Serve at 12 to 13 degrees.
