Founded in 1715, the property has changed hands only twice in three centuries. Under Christian Seely the house has declared with unusual regularity, behaving more like a Bordeaux château than a traditional shipper. Ripening was even, and the lagares were reported as clean and aromatic, with good phenolic balance and freshness. Several parcels of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Sousão performed particularly well, and the ungrafted Nacional and old field-blend parcels stood out.
