Long Rail Gully sits on granite at a slightly lower 600 metres. Bryan Martin treats the variety as though it were a red: the fruit is destemmed into a one-tonne open-top vessel and left to ferment on skins for four weeks, and when the cap drops it goes to tank to settle, then to bottle. Pinot Gris has pink skins, so the result carries colour and tannin that a conventional press-and-chill approach would never find. Martin called the 2025 growing season a perfect year: a little rain, a little warmth, plenty of flavour.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCopper-pink in the glass, with poached pear, dried apricot, bitter orange and a firm phenolic grip. Serve at 12 degrees, a touch warmer than a standard white.
