Oct 24","description":"\u003cp\u003eTuró d'en Mota is a single-vineyard Xarel·lo brut nature from the Penedès, released here after 150 months on lees and disgorged in October 2024.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cuvée comes from a knoll within Recaredo's Serral del Vell vineyard: just under one hectare of goblet-trained Xarel·lo planted in 1940 at almost 300 metres, farmed biodynamically. Cropped at 22 hectolitres per hectare, the wine ferments in barrel and rests on lees over winter with occasional stirring, then ages in bottle for at least twelve years before the first disgorgement, which is stated on every bottle. When the 1999 was released in 2008 it was the first pure Xarel·lo made in the region, and the wine is now widely held to be among the finest sparkling wines produced anywhere outside Champagne. Tom Hewson has described it as one of the world's most remarkable sparkling wines. No dosage is added.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking now and capable of long further ageing.
