Most of the juice ferments naturally in tank, with some parcels taken through the estate's oval Doppelstück oak casks. Even at this level the wine is given six months on gross lees, there is no pumping, and added sulphur is kept very low. The style is dry in the German sense, close to bone dry on the finish, with the sandstone giving a rocky texture behind citrus-edged acidity and enough palate weight to carry it. It is a sound benchmark for what Pfalz Riesling delivers at everyday prices in the Australian market.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReady on release and good for five years or so; a natural by-the-glass wine.
