The fruit comes from Kiedrich Gräfenberg, classified as Weinlage 1 Klasse in 1867 and home to Weil's oldest vines, much of it on its own rootstock. The rocky, mountainous setting of the Kiedricher Berg is central to the estate's success with these styles, holding natural sweetness against mouth-watering freshness and pungent minerality. Harvest rarely starts before October and continues for at least eight to ten weeks, with up to 40 pickers making as many as 17 passes through the vineyard.
