Drawing on the first pass through those vineyards gives a wine with the texture and mineral intensity of the hillside without the concentration the estate reserves for its single-site bottlings. It is a clear step up from the entry wine in both power and grip. One-third of the wine is raised for six months in large Stockinger Doppelstückfass, the traditional German wooden cask, which adds breadth without any oak flavour.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eApproachable on release and good for five to eight years.
