It blends fruit from Weil’s high-altitude parcels scattered around the village, including the Sandgrub vineyard and a good proportion from Wasseros, a steep, south-west-facing site that abuts the Gräfenberg vines. The soils across these sites are typically stony, fragmented phyllite laced with loess and loam, which gives a dry Riesling with more mineral tension than its price level would suggest.
