This wine is a blend from the higher-lying vineyards around the village, including the brilliantly named Sandgrub and a good measure from Wasseros, a steep, south-west-facing site next to the Gräfenberg vines, with a smaller addition from higher parcels at Hallgarten. The soils are typically stony, fragmented phyllite interlaced with loess and loam. Vinification is in stainless steel with roughly 5 per cent fermented in large oak for a little extra breadth, and the wine is finished dry.
