The old vines are trained in the traditional parral fashion, the overhead canopy anchored on granite posts that keeps the fruit clear of the damp ground in a region that sees a great deal of rain. Their gnarled, skinny trunks give low yields of concentrated fruit, and this parcel is kept aside for the estate's only 100% Albariño. A touch of skin contact and extended maturation on lees give the wine a stonier feel than the O Rosal bottling, and it is raised in small stainless-steel vessels chosen to build texture without adding oak.
