Despite atypically warm conditions, Rob Mann says the season gave fruit of real depth and intensity with balanced, high natural acidity, so he pushed the lees ageing out to a full five months in seasoned barriques to build texture. Most of the fruit is dry-grown bush vine off Powderbark Vineyard's ironstone gravel hilltop, picked just short of full maturity. The Mourvèdre was pressed as bunches on an ultra-light Champagne cycle, and the juice fermented with indigenous yeast.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA touch more colour this year, and more muscle: citrus, berries, wet slate, Provençal herbs, then powerful flavour over a base of iron, earth and salt. Serve at 9 to 10 degrees.
