This cuvée is entirely Chardonnay, blended from five parcels including Les Larreys, Clos du Roy and En Blungey, along with fruit from young vines in Couchée; the oldest plantings in the blend go back to 1949. The wine ferments and ages for eighteen months in 600-litre barrels, a larger format that limits the influence of the wood, and Pataille uses only a touch of new oak.
