Gyles Webb's Cabernet Sauvignon soon became a benchmark for the Cape, and the family still runs the estate today. Elevation brings cooler nights and slower ripening, which keeps freshness in a variety that can easily turn heavy in a warm climate. Expect blackcurrant leaf, coffee bean and leather over dark chocolate and blackberry, framed by firm, gripping tannin and a long finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eServe at around 16 to 18 degrees and give it an hour in a decanter while young.
