After a run of cool years the Yarra got a mild spring and warm, sunny conditions through picking, which shows as fuller flavour and unmistakable regional character. Twenty-two-year-old vines were picked across two days late in March, partially destemmed and fermented as whole berries with ten per cent bunches, fourteen days on skins, then nine months in oak with a tenth new. The single-vineyard Dixons Creek address does the rest of the work.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRipe cherry and plum with spice and a savoury finish, fuller than the cooler vintages but still fine-boned.
