Bendigo, above the eastern shore of Lake Dunstan, is hot and dry, but the higher slopes that supply this wine keep acidity fresh and give the fruit tension. The 2023 is generous yet restrained: dark cherry, plum and blackberry with floral and herbal notes, a hint of dark chocolate, tightly woven spice and ripe, mouth-coating tannins.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA wine to drink now or keep, with an expected life of 20 years or more.
