Maison Verget is the négociant house founded by Jean-Marie Guffens, the Belgian grower behind Domaine Guffens-Heynen, and it built its reputation on buying fruit rather than juice, pressing carefully and treating village wines with the attention usually reserved for grander appellations. This cuvée comes from three parcels of vines that touch the Chavigne vineyard, and the site is kept deliberately vague so that the neighbouring growers keep selling their grapes here. The vines were harvested in several passes to take each one at ripeness, and the wine was fermented in barrel with 25% new oak.
