Hippolyte Brunier planted vines there in 1891, and five generations of the family have farmed the site since; the name comes from a Chappe optical telegraph tower built on the plateau in the 1790s. Grenache Noir makes up the majority of the blend, with Mourvèdre for structure, some Syrah, and small amounts of Cinsault and white Clairette.
