Part of the grand cru Corton-Charlemagne falls within the commune's boundaries, and that alone tells you what the village can do with Chardonnay. The vineyards face variously east and south west and lie a little higher than most of the Côte, so the whites hold their acidity well even in warm years. Soils are limestone over marl.
