It is better known for its whites, but the reds have improved markedly, and Vincent Dureuil-Janthial has been central to that. He farms some eighteen hectares around the village and picks by hand at low yields. For this wine the fruit is mostly destemmed, fermented with indigenous yeasts and extracted gently, then aged in barrel for around a year with only a small share of new wood. The result is a village Burgundy of real definition — light on its feet, with clean red fruit and a savoury, mineral finish rather than any softness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinks well from release and will hold for several years.
