Domaine Vincent Pinard is based in Bué, whose caillottes limestone slopes are the appellation's most celebrated, and is now run by Vincent's sons Clément and Florent, who farm organically and pick by hand. Chêne Marchand is the most celebrated lieu-dit in Bué and one of the very best sites in Sancerre: a compact south-east facing slope of shallow caillottes limestone thin enough to keep vigour low and yields modest, giving wines that are taut and saline.
