Domaine Weinbach, the Faller family estate at Kaysersberg, gained a foothold here through the 2019 purchase of six hectares formerly belonging to Domaine Gérard Fuchs, and among those vines was a small plot of Riesling at the south-eastern tip of the cru, ringed by trees. The soils are rocky, over calcareous bedrock. The estate is farmed biodynamically. Eddy Faller reports that these old, low-yielding vines give a wine that marries powerful aromatic expression with generous structure, and he recommends several years of further cellaring before opening.
