{"product_id":"weinbach-alsace-grand-cru-schlossberg-riesling-2021","title":"Weinbach Alsace Grand Cru Schlossberg Riesling 2021","description":"\u003cp\u003eWeinbach Schlossberg Riesling is a dry grand cru Riesling from three high parcels on a hill that has been famous for the variety since the fifteenth century.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSchlossberg is a granitic outcrop north of Kaysersberg and Kientzheim, running from 230 to 350 metres, and in 1975 it was the first vineyard in Alsace to be granted grand cru status. The Faller family hold eight hectares here, more than anyone else, farmed biodynamically and bottled as a series of Rieslings divided by vine age and altitude. The fruit for this wine comes from the top of the slope, between 320 and 420 metres, where the soils are shallow and stony and the eroded granite has a reddish cast and a high magnesium content. Those conditions, with low yields, give a Riesling that is dry and mineral with enough flesh to balance the intensity. The wine was raised in large old casks for 15 months.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking now and will develop over ten to fifteen years.
