Les Vignes du Prêcheur — the preacher's vines — takes its name from a recently acquired parcel a short distance from the domaine, sitting beneath the Kaefferkopf grand cru. Its sandy, silty soils suit fresh, dry, early-drinking whites rather than the concentrated late-picked styles the estate is also known for. The site is managed organically and is in conversion to both organic and biodynamic certification. The blend is a true co-fermentation rather than an assemblage: 40% Riesling, 30% Auxerrois, 20% Pinot Gris, 5% Muscat and 5% Sylvaner, picked and pressed together as whole bunches.
