The Home Block, planted in 1996 and managed organically, sits on an ironstone and laterite ridge with a north-south orientation and drains freely. Fruit was hand-picked at first light in clean conditions and fermented on wild yeast, then matured in a mix of oak and clay vessels. Clay keeps the wine taut while oak gives it a frame, and the high mineral content of the soil shows up plainly in the glass.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSlate and sun-bleached hay on the nose, then bright citrus, white flowers and an oyster-shell finish. The fine acid line suggests it will reward cellaring.
