The fruit that results is clean and intensely flavoured, with high-toned pepper and spice. A small parcel of whole bunches went into the ferment, and a dash of Viognier from the easternmost corner of the Home Block was included to push the aromatics further. A traditional basket press moved the wine to French oak barrels for twelve months.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eViolet, raspberry and cracked pepper, mid-weight and fine-boned, with a long spicy finish. Serve at 15-16 degrees. It goes with duck, lamb cutlets off the grill, or a lentil and mushroom braise.
