The Angaston family winery has long looked to the Rhône for inspiration, planting Viognier early and now working with Roussanne in the cooler Eden Valley. The grape ripens late and builds texture more than overt fruit, which suits the region's slow, even season. This release shows chamomile, pear and wildflowers with a river-stone minerality and an oyster-shell note. The palate is soft, creamy and mouthwatering, with a savoury thread that keeps it fresh.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eServe lightly chilled, at 10 to 12 degrees, so the texture can show.
