Old vines produce small crops of concentrated fruit, and the Angaston team handles it with a light touch. The wine is matured in long-seasoned oak, which contributes cinnamon and allspice without masking the fruit. The 2022 is deep red with a crimson hue, showing blueberry, violet and liquorice spice, then purple berries, dark cherry and crunchy red fruit on a lively palate that finishes with fine ironstone tannins.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePour it at around 16 to 18 degrees with a slow-braised beef ragù, lamb shoulder or spiced duck.
