Domaine Yannick Amirault works some forty parcels across Bourgueil and Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, farmed organically and picked by hand, and is now run with Yannick's son Benoît. Côte 50 comes from the coteau rather than the alluvial flats, where a shallow topsoil over tuffeau limestone restricts vigour and gives Cabernet Franc more grip and a firmer mineral edge. The domaine ferments with indigenous yeasts and extracts gently, aiming for the fine, chalky tannin the appellation does best rather than for weight, and élevage is in tank and used wood so no new-oak character is imposed on the fruit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eMedium-bodied, peppery and fresh, it suits charcuterie, roast pork, duck and grilled vegetables and takes a light chill; serve at around 16 degrees.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
