Recipe

Bistecca alla Veronese (Veronese-Style Steak)

Ingredients:

  • 4 beef steaks (preferably T-bone or rib-eye)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions:

  1. Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook the steaks for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust cooking time as needed).
  2. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the garlic, rosemary, and thyme, and sauté for 1–2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the lemon juice and balsamic vinegar, letting it reduce slightly. Add the butter and stir until it melts, creating a sauce.
  4. Return the steaks to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them, and cook for an additional 1–2 minutes.
  5. Serve the steaks drizzled with the sauce, garnished with fresh herbs.
  6. Enjoy this delicious Veronese dish alongside a glass of Cesari Due Torre Pinot Nero IGT 2022 for a delightful pairing.
