Recipe

Beef Bourguignon

Ingredients:

  • 1kg beef chuck, cubed
  • 200g bacon, chopped
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups red wine
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 bouquet garni (herbs)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot. Brown the beef cubes and set aside.
  2. Cook bacon until crispy, then add onions, garlic, and carrots. Sauté until soft.
  3. Stir in tomato paste and deglaze with red wine. Return the beef to the pot.
  4. Add beef stock and bouquet garni. Simmer on low heat for 2-3 hours until beef is tender.
  5. Season with salt and pepper, and serve warm with crusty bread.
