Description

Bachelet-Monnot Bourgogne Blanc Côte d’Or is a regional white built almost entirely from vines inside the Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet communes.

The Bourgogne Côte d’Or appellation was created to distinguish regional wines grown on the slope itself from those made anywhere in Burgundy, and this bottling shows why the distinction matters. Marc and Alexandre Bachelet work from Maranges at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune, and the fruit here comes from 1.3 hectares of 20- to 50-year-old vines spread across four parcels in the Puligny area, plus a plot of young-vine Chassagne on chalky soil. The viticulture, picking date and deliberately hands-off cellar work are the same as for the domaine’s village and premier cru wines, which is what lifts this above most wines at its level. It remains one of the better-value white Burgundies in the Bibendum range.

Ready on release and holding for three or four years. Serve at 10-12°C with roast chicken, grilled flathead or a soft washed-rind cheese.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
