Description

Blank Canvas Reed Vineyard Chardonnay is a restrained, textural Chardonnay from a single Marlborough vineyard.

Natural acidity is the backbone of Chardonnay from this region, and it can make for finely strung wines. Barrel work here adds texture and complexity without obvious oak flavour. The label, run by Matt Thomson and Sophie Parker-Thomson MW, buys from individual growers and bottles every site on its own, with fairly hands-off winemaking.

Poised and mid-weight, with stone fruit, citrus and a gently creamy finish. Try it at 10–12°C with roast chicken, pork, crab or a creamy pasta.
