Bleasdale Vineyards Generations Shiraz 2023

Bleasdale Vineyards Generations Shiraz is a top-tier Langhorne Creek Shiraz from the variety that started it all at Bleasdale.

Shiraz was the first red grape planted at Bleasdale, in 1858, only a few years after Frank Potts founded the winery. The Generations label pays tribute to the family members who have carried the business forward since. The fruit comes from the district's deep alluvial soils, where the moderating influence of Lake Alexandrina allows slow, even ripening. Ripe plum and dark berries are layered with liquorice, pepper and fresh spice in a wine built to age.

Decant an hour before serving at around 17 degrees. Slow-roasted lamb, beef cheeks or a hearty mushroom and lentil pie are great matches. It is drinking well now and will cellar for many years; older bottles may throw some sediment.
