Blind Corner Blanc 2022

Blind Corner Blanc is an almost entirely Sauvignon Blanc white from the Goulds' biodynamic Quindalup vineyard.

One of the more interesting estates in Margaret River is also one of the least talked about. Both of Ben and Naomi Gould's vineyards, at Wilyabrup and Quindalup, are certified organic and biodynamic, which is rare in the region, and every addition that goes into a wine, of which there are almost none, is listed publicly on their website. Ben even wrote a book on the subject. The 2022 is 98 per cent Sauvignon Blanc with a whisper of Chenin, from twenty-plus-year-old vines on sand and gravel over granite, wild-fermented in steel with a little skin contact for colour and grip, and bottled without fining.

Nettle, lime and white peach, dry and clean, closing with a light phenolic tug from the skins. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees. Fish and chips, a green salad with feta, or fresh crab picked straight from the shell.
