Description
Blind Corner Ørange In Colour is a skin-fermented white blend drawn from six varieties on one Margaret River vineyard.
Quindalup sits on the coastal flats with the Indian Ocean four kilometres north and eight kilometres west, which keeps the nights cool and the picking window long. Beneath the vines, sandy soil runs into seven to ten metres of pea gravel and then porous coffee rock and ironstone down to twenty-five metres. Harvest took two weeks in 2024, and most varieties fermented on skins for three or four days before being pressed and combined in oak and stainless steel; the Pinot Grigio was left longer to draw out colour and phenolic structure. Every parcel went through malolactic conversion. Chenin Blanc leads at 61 per cent.
Citrus-driven and intense, with mandarin, white peach and a chalky, lightly tannic close. Serve at 12 degrees, cooler than a red but not fridge-cold. Works with grilled chicken, a prawn and fennel salad, or soft cheese on toast.
