Cantina Del Pino Barbaresco 375ml 2021

Cantina Del Pino Barbaresco is a traditionally made Nebbiolo from the village of Barbaresco in Piedmont, here in a 375ml half bottle.

The property on the Ovello hillside was once the vineyard nursery of the historic Produttori del Barbaresco co-operative. Renato Vacca, whose great-uncle founded that co-operative, has run it independently since the late 1990s. This classic bottling blends the estate's parcels, fermented with indigenous yeasts and macerated at length, then aged about two years in big Slavonian casks and a further spell in bottle to keep its perfume and tannic frame intact.

Pale but firm, with rose, tar and sour cherry and that drying Nebbiolo tannin. The half bottle suits two over dinner and matures a little faster than a full one. Decant briefly and pour at 16–18°C with risotto or veal.
