Description

Catena Alta Historic Rows Malbec is a blend of select rows from the Catena family's high-altitude estate vineyards in Mendoza.

In Spanish, alta means 'high', and the name points to both the lofty vineyard sites and the ambition behind the wine. Over decades of research, the Catena family has mapped its estate vineyards row by row, and this Malbec brings together historic rows that have proved themselves vintage after vintage. Blending several sites adds complexity, with the stonier, higher vineyards contributing freshness and floral lift. The wine is matured in French oak.

Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees with barbecued beef, lamb kofta or a mushroom and lentil pie. It drinks well now after decanting and will cellar for many years.
