Catena High Mountain Vines Malbec 2024

Catena High Mountain Vines Malbec is an approachable, high-altitude Malbec from the Catena family's estate vineyards in Mendoza.

The Catena family has farmed in Mendoza since 1902 and was among the first to plant Malbec high in the Andean foothills, where cooler nights and intense light give deeper colour, fresher acidity and more aromatic fruit. For this wine, grapes are drawn from a number of estate vineyards at different elevations, each chosen after years of study. Blending them gives a Malbec with natural balance, concentration and a clear sense of the variety.

Pour it at around 16 to 18 degrees. Weeknight steak, barbecued snags, pizza or a beef and bean chilli all go well. There's no need to cellar it, though it will keep for a few years.
