Recipe

Gratin Dauphinois (Potato Gratin)

Ingredients:

  • 1kg potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 300ml thickened cream
  • 2 garlic cloves, halved
  • 50g butter
  • Salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste
  • 50g grated Gruyère cheese (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Rub a gratin dish with the cut sides of garlic and grease with butter.
  2. Layer sliced potatoes in the dish. Season each layer with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  3. Pour over cream and dot with butter. Top with Gruyère if using.
  4. Bake for 1 hour or until golden and potatoes are tender.
  5. Serve hot with a glass of Cave De Tain Marsanne.
