Gratin Dauphinois (Potato Gratin)
Ingredients:
- 1kg potatoes, thinly sliced
- 300ml thickened cream
- 2 garlic cloves, halved
- 50g butter
- Salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste
- 50g grated Gruyère cheese (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 180°C. Rub a gratin dish with the cut sides of garlic and grease with butter.
- Layer sliced potatoes in the dish. Season each layer with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Pour over cream and dot with butter. Top with Gruyère if using.
- Bake for 1 hour or until golden and potatoes are tender.
- Serve hot with a glass of Cave De Tain Marsanne.
