Description

Cep by Cep is Philippe Germain's Anjou label, and this dry Chenin Blanc now draws mainly on the vineyards of his estate, Château de la Roulerie.

Anjou Blanc is the everyday dry white appellation of the Angers hinterland, made predominantly from Chenin Blanc, a grape that holds high natural acidity and takes readily to the schist soils of the region. Château de la Roulerie sits at Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné in the Layon, twenty-four hectares split across twenty-two parcels on grey schist; Philippe Germain's father Bernard bought the property in 1996 and Philippe has lived and worked there since 2001. His older brother Thierry, of Domaine des Roches Neuves in Saumur, has been involved in the winemaking decisions since 2004, and the two have made the wine at La Roulerie itself since 2008. Cep by Cep began as a separate label with the 2014 vintage and the Roulerie vineyards now supply the bulk of it.

Drink over the next three or four years. Serve at 10-12°C with grilled fish, pork rillettes or a fresh goat's cheese.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
