Description

ChaLou Pinot Gris Orange is a round, textural Pinot Gris from a small family winery in the Central West of New South Wales.

It's the same grape as Italy's Pinot Grigio, but the Gris name points to the richer Alsace approach. Cold nights and slow ripening in the high vineyards of Mount Canobolas let it gain flavour and weight while staying fresh. They pick for ripe pear and spice, then build mouthfeel with time on lees, so there's more body here than in a typical Grigio.

Pear and nashi with a gentle spice, generous and round. Pour at 8–10°C with pork dishes, Asian flavours, roast vegetables or creamy pasta, and enjoy it within a few years of vintage.
