Château Guiraud 1er Grand Cru Classé en 1855 Sauternes 375ml 2020

Château Guiraud Sauternes 375ml is a classified-growth sweet wine from one of the largest estates in the Sauternes appellation.

Ranked Premier Grand Cru Classé in the famous 1855 classification, the estate lies in the commune of Sauternes itself, a short walk from Yquem. Its vineyards lean more heavily on Sauvignon Blanc than many neighbours, which gives the wines extra freshness alongside the richness of botrytised Semillon. The grapes are harvested by hand over several passes, and the estate farms organically. A very strict selection in 2020 has given a wine of purity and silky texture, with notes of quince, apricot and spice.

A half bottle is ideal for dessert for two to four people. Chill it well and serve with crème brûlée, apricot frangipane or a wedge of blue cheese. Enjoy now for its fresh fruit, or cellar for many years.
