Chateau Musar Jeune Rosé 2022

Chateau Musar Jeune Rosé is a dry Lebanese rosé from the high vineyards of the Bekaa Valley.

The Hochar family has been making wine under the Musar name since 1930, with cellars at Ghazir on the coast and vineyards inland on the Bekaa plateau, roughly a thousand metres above sea level between two mountain ranges. Cinsault has grown there for well over a century and handles the heat and altitude with ease; Mourvedre adds structure. The Jeune wines were introduced as the estate's early drinking range, made without oak so that the fruit and the site speak plainly. Fermentation is in tank and the wine is bottled young, which is a departure from the long ageing given to the flagship Musar reds. The result is a wine built for the table rather than the cellar.

Serve well chilled, at around 8 to 10 degrees, with mezze, grilled fish, or anything off the barbecue in warm weather.
