Domaine Combier is a benchmark estate in Crozes-Hermitage, founded by Laurent Combier, a progressive and open-minded winemaker. Built in 1990 on the N7 between Tain l'Hermitage and Pont de l'Isère, the modern winery is known for producing rich, exuberant wines with clarity and vibrancy. Farming 13 hectares of Syrah organically on the Les Chassis plateau, Laurent Combier has developed a style that blends tradition and innovation. 'Cuvée L' is the domaine's most accessible wine, delivering fresh varietal character and immediate pleasure.

Recipe

Gratin de Pommes de Terre au Thym (Thyme Potato Gratin)

Ingredients:

  • 1kg potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 300ml cream
  • 100ml milk
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste
  • Butter for greasing

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a baking dish with butter and layer in sliced potatoes.
  2. In a bowl, mix cream, milk, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour over the potatoes.
  3. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 15 minutes until golden and tender.
  4. Serve with grilled meats or roast vegetables and a glass of Domaine Combier Crozes-Hermitage 'Cuvée L' Syrah.
