Domaine de l'Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Forêts Saint Georges is the estate's second monopole and, at 7.2 hectares, by far its largest single parcel.

Clos des Forêts Saint Georges is one of the great terroirs of Nuits-Saint-Georges, and its name reflects how close it lies to Les Saint-Georges itself. Running the full width of the slope from the forest above down to the RN74, it contains three distinct soil types that Géraldine Godot picks and vinifies separately: a band of white oolitic limestone with almost no topsoil at the top; a fracture mid-slope where pink Prémeaux limestone takes over; then younger Ladoix limestone and more clay at the bottom. Some of the youngest vines were once harvested for the now-discontinued Petits Plets cuvée; at over 30 years old they have come of age and now form part of this wine. It is deeper and more structured than Clos de l'Arlot, as it always is, while keeping the finesse and balance that mark the domaine's recent releases.

Best from six to eight years and capable of twenty. Serve at 16-18°C with roast beef, game or an aged hard cheese.
