Ingredients:
- 400g extra-firm tofu, pressed and sliced into 1cm thick slabs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp capers, rinsed and chopped
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Optional: 1 tsp maple syrup for a touch of sweetness
Instructions:
- Preheat a grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly brush the tofu slices with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
- Grill the tofu for 4–5 minutes per side, until grill marks appear and the tofu is heated through.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the remaining olive oil with minced garlic over medium heat and sauté briefly.
- Add the lemon juice, chopped capers, water, and maple syrup (if using). Let the sauce simmer for 2 minutes until slightly reduced, then stir in the fresh parsley.
