Domaine Naturaliste Artus Chardonnay 2023

Domaine Naturaliste Artus Chardonnay is a barrel-fermented Margaret River Chardonnay from the upper tier of Bruce Dukes' range.

Selected fruit is fermented and matured in French oak, with lees contact to build texture. You get the region's power and fruit concentration, kept fresh by lively acidity and a fine structure. Bruce Dukes spent years making wine for other producers in the area before starting this label, named for nearby Cape Naturaliste, and his range now runs from entry-level wines up to single-varietal bottlings like this one.

Full-bodied and layered: stone fruit and citrus, then a creamy, nutty edge from the oak. Serve at 10–12°C with roast chicken, crayfish or pork belly, and don't be afraid to keep a bottle or two for a few years.
